The PMW Japan Index is a single daily-updated number tracking the top-weight Japanese Pokemon TCG market constituents in English. Methodology will be published in full when the index launches.
What it measures
A value-weighted 25-product basket spanning the four cycle phases (Phase 1 lottery, Phase 2 launch hype, Phase 3 reprint trough, Phase 4 zetsuban climb). Recomputed daily at 22:00 JST. Quarterly rebalance. JPY-denominated, USD displayed.
Why it exists
No English-language source publishes a Japan-Pokemon-market index. Card Ladder runs a Pokemon index but it weights English-secondary prices, which under-weight the structural Japan-domestic floor that leads US prices.
